FAQ for Reciters

This page is for Qur’an reciters, or their authorised representatives, who would like to be considered for inclusion on Quran Central.

Can I be added as a reciter on Quran Central?

You are welcome to apply. Every application is reviewed, but submitting an application does not guarantee that a reciter will be added.

We send submitted recordings to an external, qualified reviewer who assesses the recitation independently. We also consider recording quality and completeness.

Step 1: Send us a link to the recordings

To apply, first email us a link where we can listen to the reciter’s recordings.

The recordings should be publicly accessible and should not require us to create an account or request access. Please send a link rather than attaching large audio files.

An external, qualified reviewer will assess the recitation before we request any additional information. Submitting recordings does not guarantee approval or inclusion on Quran Central.

Why might a recitation not be approved?

We usually reject a recitation only when our external reviewer finds that the standard of Tajweed is not acceptable or that the reciter is making clear recitation errors.

This review is about the submitted recitation, not the reciter’s popularity or number of followers.

Step 2: Send the reciter’s details after approval

If the recitation is approved, we will contact you and ask for the information needed to create the reciter’s profile. This may include:

The reciter’s full name
A short biography
A clear, high-quality profile image
Country of origin or residence
Recitation type and riwayah, where applicable
A link to the reciter’s official website or verified social profile
The original or highest-quality audio files
Confirmation that you are the reciter or are authorised to act on their behalf
Confirmation that Quran Central has permission to host and distribute the audio

Please do not send the biography, image, or large source files until we confirm that the recitation has been approved.

What recordings are suitable?

All submitted recordings should have:

Clear and accurate recitation
Consistent, high-quality audio
No background music, advertising, or unrelated speech
Reliable surah names and track information
Confirmed permission from the relevant reciter and rights holders

For non-Mujawwad recitations, a complete Qur’an recitation is ideal but is not required. We prefer each recording to contain a complete surah, with one surah per file.

For Mujawwad recitations, recordings may contain selected passages. Name each file using the surah and the verse range being recited so that the content can be identified clearly.

Non-Mujawwad recordings may still be submitted if the complete Qur’an is not available or is still being produced.

How long does the review take?

There is no guaranteed review or publishing timeframe. Quran Central is a free project with limited capacity, and applications may remain pending while our external reviewer assesses the recitation and we work through our existing queue.

Please submit the application once. Repeated follow-ups will not speed up the review.

What happens if my application is accepted?

We will contact you to begin Step 2 and request the reciter’s profile information and source files. Quran Central may then create a dedicated reciter page, organise the audio by surah, and make the recitation available through its supported platforms.

You should contact us if the reciter’s biography, links, rights, or recordings later change.

Can I request changes or removal later?

Yes. The reciter or their authorised representative can request corrections, replacement audio, or removal. We may ask you to verify your identity or authority before making significant changes.

How do I apply?

Email support@muslimcentral.com with the subject Quran Central Reciter Application: Reciter Name and include a link to the reciter’s recordings.

If the recitation is approved, we will reply with the information required for Step 2.
