Why We're Moving Away from Certain Platforms

Patreon:
Our Patreon account was closed after the platform took issue with some of the well-known speakers featured on our platform. They demanded that we remove these speakers, but we refused to compromise on our principles. As a result, our account was closed, and we lost our entire donor base on Patreon.

Google Podcasts:
Before its discontinuation, Google Podcasts caused repeated issues with our feeds, leading to a mix-up of content that was never fully resolved despite multiple attempts to fix it. This created unnecessary headaches for both us and our users. Given these challenges, we have decided not to engage with Google’s YouTube Podcasts moving forward.

TikTok:
Our account faced shadow banning, frequent video removals, and repeated suspensions, making it difficult to maintain a presence.

Threads:
We garnered over 11K subscribers, but engagement and views were minimal compared to other platforms, where content typically performs much better.

Spotify [2024]:
Recently, our Spotify account was temporarily suspended due to a copyright claim on Quran recitations by a UAE-based company. We are uncertain whether these claims are legitimate, and at the time of writing, we are awaiting a response to our appeal. We have also reached out to the company directly, who acknowledged our communication but has yet to follow up. We encourage our users to switch to our Android app or other third-party podcast apps available on Android and iOS.

If our account is ultimately closed, it will affect over 100K subscribers across more than 600 podcast shows. It’s disheartening to think that one entity, without contacting us to provide evidence of their claims, could potentially disrupt such a large community of listeners. We ask for your continued support on alternative platforms.

Security [2023-2024]:
Our systems have faced several attacks, prompting us to significantly enhance security measures. We have moved to a serverless architecture where possible and now run servers on-demand to mitigate risks.

Looking Forward:
Despite these challenges, we feel our platform may be targeted due to the nature of our work in Dawah. Regardless, we remain committed to our mission and will continue to adapt to reach our audience. There are countless small to medium-sized podcast apps and solutions available, and we encourage our users to explore these alternatives to stay connected with us.
